(WBTV) Five students who were nominated to the nation’s military academies by U.S. Rep. Howard Coble (R-NC) have received appointments so far. Congressman Coble said today that the 6th District students are from Alamance, Guilford and Rowan Counties.
Ryan Davenport and Steven Sauer have received appointments to the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Ryan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Tony Davenport, attends the Davenport Learning Academy. Ryan lives on Witty Road in Summerfield.
Steven attends Northern Guilford High School and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Sauer. Steven lives on Birdsong Court in High Point. He has also received an appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.
Receiving appointments to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York, are Anna Smith, Dylan Maher, and John Baranik.
