The Catawba Baseball team lost its opening game at Newman Park Friday, as Belmont Abbey scored seven runs in the sixth inning that blew the game open,as the Trive won 14-7. Stephen Mullis belted two homers in the game for the Crusaders. Garrett Furr hit a homer and knocked in four runs. Cameron Beard and Ryan Bostian each had two hits. Abbey improved to 2-0. Catawba is scheduled to host Mars Hill at 6:00PM, but threatening weather is a probability that could postpone it. Also today at Catawba, there was a scheduled WInter Flight run. Other games that were scheduled included: Belmont Abbey vs. Pfeiffer at Noon and Belmont Abbey playing Mars Hill at 3:00PM.
The Winter Flight Run was also taking place at Catawba today under rainy conditions.
